An achievement – Hopian gains Trusted Charity Standard Level 1

Recognition for effective & efficient operational management

Hopian has achieved the Trusted Standard Level 1, recognising the excellent work it does as a third sector organisation in England.

The Trusted Standard is owned by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and delivered by The Growth Company and is the only UK quality standard designed to help third sector organisations operate more effectively and efficiently.

Hopian has been accredited with the Level 1 Trusted Standard, meaning they have met the minimum legal obligations and have systems and structures in place to protect the rights of users and employees. This was determined by being assessed against the 11 quality areas of The Trusted Standard: governance, planning, leadership and management, user-centred service, managing people, learning & development, managing money, managing resources, external communications, working with others, and assessing outcomes and impact.

“We are really proud to achieve the Trusted Charity Standard. It recognises the hard work that goes into running the charity and reassures our local community that Hopian is a charity they can trust for safe, effective support.”
    Sue Wynne – Hopian’s CEO

Achieving Level 1 accreditation under the Trusted Charity Standard is important to us, as it recognises the strength of our governance, leadership, and organisational effectiveness. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to best practice, accountability, and continuous improvement, and provides assurance to service users, partners, commissioners, and funders that we are a well-run and trusted organisation. It will continue to strengthen our credibility, support future growth, and help ensure we continue delivering high-quality services to those who need them most.

“I am truly delighted that Hopian have achieved the Trusted Charity Standard at Level 1. There was excellent evidence of strong leadership, great planning processes, effective partnership working, robust financial processes as well as good support for their dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Hopian have worked hard on their branding and messaging too, which helps raise awareness of abuse and of the positive outcomes and impact of their work. Congratulations to Hopian on achieving this quality standard.”
