Need advice or support? Pop in at our Drop-In Sessions

Are you in a relationship that leaves you feeling like you are walking on eggshells? Where do you often fear the response of your partner? Or perhaps you are struggling with the impact of a past relationship that was traumatic? Perhaps you want to talk through your options for the support we can offer, need help in planning for your safety, or wonder how you can self-refer. Come and talk to us at one of our Drop-In sessions.

Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (except bank holidays), we have 2 drop-in sessions: between 10 and 11am and between 3 and 4pm. You can drop in (at our offices on 18 High Str, Rotherham, S60 1PP) for a chat with one of our experienced team members* about how you can access our services, advice, and safety planning.

*Please note that it COULD happen that our Team is unable to see you straight away, as they might be talking with someone else; in this case, you may be asked to wait or be offered another time for us to contact you.

    We will …

    • Listen to you.
    • Tell you about our responsibilities and the service options.
    • Give you time to tell us what you want to share in a safe, friendly, and non-judgmental environment.
    • Talk with you about your needs.
    • Be assessing risk.

We will not force you to tell us what has happened; we won’t rush you, judge you, or tell you what to do; we are simply here to provide information to help you make your own choices and be safer. Whether you simply want advice or want to start a support journey.

We support people of all ages, backgrounds, (dis-)abilities, genders, sexualities, or religious beliefs, and we can also provide support in other languages.

If you are unable to make these drop-in sessions but would like our advice or support, you can call us Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm on 0330 2020571, email help@hopian.org.uk, or contact us via our Help page.

“[Our service] helped me understand exactly how my life was not acceptable and I was a victim of domestic abuse and how it is ok to speak up about it rather than suffer from it. “

“Thank you for supporting me through a tough time!”

“Everyone at [the charity] is so approachable, and I feel listened to.”
