TDF Burlesque Group Raises £11,308 for Hopian Through Spectacular Charity Performances

Local performers use art of burlesque to support survivors of domestic abuse
TDF Burlesque Group, South Yorkshire’s premier burlesque troupe, chose Hopian as their charity of the year for 2025 and has announced at their recent charity showcase the total raised is £11,308. Hopian is the charity dedicated to supporting adults, young people and children affected by domestic abuse and child sex exploitation in Rotherham.
The final sold-out performance held at Maltby Progressive Club on 5th December 2025, that brought their year of support to a close and featured over 50 performers who donated their time and talent to raise vital funds and awareness for the cause. The evening combined the art of burlesque with a powerful message about empowerment, body positivity, and supporting those affected by domestic abuse.

“We’re thrilled to support such an important cause in our community,” said Keren Firth aka Tormenta De Fuego, Founder of TDF Burlesque. “Burlesque is fundamentally about empowerment, self-expression, and reclaiming your own narrative – values that align perfectly with the work that Hopian does every day.”
“As we start 2026, which will see Hopian mark 50 years as a charity in Rotherham, this significant donation is such a boost for our services,” says Sue Wynne, CEO. “To have enjoyed the yearlong support from the Burlesque group also means vital increased awareness for the charity so that anyone needing our services here in Rotherham knows where to find us.”

TDF Burlesque has held classes and has been performing in Rotherham since 2018 and is committed to using performance art as a platform for positive social change. This marks their 8th year of holding fundraising events for a variety of local charities
